11/18/2010Overnight roadwork in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties

In an effort to keep you up to date on projects that could affect your travels, SHA will do roadwork on three bridges in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties Thursday evening, November 18, and this weekend.

 Montgomery County:

  • Crews will resurface the existing roadway on the I-495 Bridge over Northwest Branch between  MD 650 (New Hampshire Avenue) and MD 193.  SHA will close two left lanes on the outer loop of I-495, November 18, starting at  10 p.m. All lanes will re-open by 5 a.m.  On Monday, November 22, SHA will close two right lanes along the Inner Loop of I-495 on the bridge beginning at 10 p.m.  All lanes will re-open by 5 a.m.
  • On Saturday, November 20 work will occur on   I-495 eastbound (inner loop) under the MD 193 (University Boulevard) bridge in Silver Spring.  There will be alternating double left and right lane closures between 4:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
  • On Sunday, November 21 work will occur on      I-495 westbound (outer loop) under the MD 193 (University Boulevard) bridge in Silver Spring.  There will be alternating double left and right lane closures between 4:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Prince George's County:

  • On Sunday, November 21 work will occur on    US 50 (John Hanson Highway) under the Whitfield Chapel Road Bridge in Lanham.  There will be alternating double left and right lane closures between 5 a.m. and noon.
