8/15/2012SHA CLOSING LANES AND RAMPS ON I-795 FOR CONCRETE REPAIR WORK AUGUST 15-20
SHA is temporarily closing and detouring interchange ramps along I-795 (Northwest Expressway) between Owings Mills Boulevard and I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) at night on Wednesday, August 15 and Thursday, August 16. The closures will take place this week for concrete pavement milling work.  
 
SHA also plans to close one lane along southbound I-795 beginning Friday, August 17 for weekend concrete pavement removal and replacement work.  All schedules are weather permitting.
 
11 p.m. Wednesday, August 15 - 5 a.m. Thursday, August 16:
Overnight Ramp Closure: Northbound I-795 ramp to southbound Owings Mills Boulevard - towards Owings Mills Town Center.
Detour: Ramp to northbound Owings Mills Boulevard, proceed to southbound Reisterstown Road to Painters Mill Road to Red Run Boulevard back to Owings Mills Boulevard in the Town Center area.
 
Overnight Ramp Closure: Southbound I-795 to southbound Owings Mills Boulevard – towards Owings Mills Town Center 
Detour: Ramp to northbound Owings Mills Boulevard; proceed to southbound Reisterstown Road to Painters Mill Road to Red Run Boulevard back to Owings Mills Boulevard in the Town Center area.
 
11 p.m. Thursday, August 16 – 5 a.m. Friday, August 17:
Overnight Ramp Closure: Northbound I-795 to northbound Owings Mills Boulevard - towards MD 140 (Reisterstown Road).  
Detour: Ramp to southbound Owings Mills Boulevard, proceed to Red Run Boulevard to Painters Mill Road to northbound MD 140 back to Owings Mills Boulevard
 
7 p.m. Friday, August 17 - 5 a.m. Monday August 20:
Weekend Lane Closure: Right lane of southbound I-795 closed between south of the Owings Mills Boulevard interchange and the I-695 interchange.  Two left lanes on southbound I-795 will remain open to traffic all weekend.
 
Crews will be in the work zone at various times to pour and set sections of concrete pavement.  Even though crews may not be present, sections of concrete pavement will be closed until the concrete is cured and declared safe for travel.  
 
The work is part of SHA’s ongoing $3.8 million project to repair pavement along I-795 between I-695 and the CSX overpass in Owings Mills.  The project, which also includes guardrail replacement, drainage improvements and pavement repairs, began spring 2012 and will be complete fall 2013, weather permitting.
