10/12/2012Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) Weekend Gate Closures on MD 715 - Fall 2012
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) advises motorists that Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) will temporarily close and detour the Maryland Gate on MD 715 (Short Lane/Maryland Boulevard) east of Cirelli Court on weekends in October and November.

The weekend gate closures and temporary detours will allow APG to conduct unexploded ordnance survey operations at the Maryland Pond along northbound MD 715 (opposite Ruggles Golf Course).

APG will close the Maryland Gate on weekends between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Sunday.  During the weekend gate closures, all APG visitors and delivery vehicle drivers traveling to the Maryland Gate will be diverted onto eastbound US 40 (Pulaski Highway) to eastbound MD 22 (Aberdeen Thruway) to the Harford Gate.

APG’s Ruggles Golf Course will remain open on weekends; however, all golfers must enter through the Harford Gate.  Temporary digital message signs and traffic signs will direct travelers from MD 715 to US 40 and MD 22 to APG’s Harford Gate.

APG’s weekend closures of the Maryland Gate will take place through mid-November, weather and other conditions permitting.

APG will post updates on its news and social media sites, including www.apgnews.apg.army.mil; www.apg.army.mil; www.twitter.com/usagapg and www.facebook.com/APGmd
