​Daytime and Overnight Work Includes Upgrades to Pavement and Traffic Monitoring Systems

(October 8, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will continue final tasks including pavement and Automated Traffic Monitoring systems upgrades on I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in the Catonsville area of Baltimore County Monday, October 11 through Thursday, October 14.    

The work will require some daytime and overnight lane and shoulder closures Monday through Thursday along southbound I-695 (Outer Loop) and northbound I-695 (Inner Loop) at the following locations:   

  • I-695 Inner Loop from Ingleside Avenue to US 40 (Baltimore National Pike): Crews will perform upgrades to the Automated Traffic Monitoring system 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on the left lane and left and right shoulder and on the Outer Loop left and right shoulder.   
  • I-695 Outer Loop from Ingleside Avenue to MD 144 (Frederick Road): Crews will upgrade pavement transitions at Edmondson Avenue interchange and MD 144 interchange overnight. This will require a single right lane closure from 9 p.m. Monday, October 11 to to 5 a.m. the next morning, and a double right lane closure 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. Outer Loop: Single right lane closure 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and a double right lane closure 10 p.m. through 5 a.m.
