Overnight Resurfacing Work Will Continue Through Late June

(May 16, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin a project Thursday, May 26 to resurface sections of asphalt pavement along two miles of MD 136 (Whiteford Road) in Harford County. The work will be done 9:00 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and is expected to be complete by late June, weather permitting.

The project was delayed from May 18.

MDOT SHA contractor crews will patch, mill and resurface pavement on MD 136 from Robinson Mill Road to Heaps Road. As part of the $1.3 million project, crews will work 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday evenings through Friday mornings.

During work hours, there will be temporary single-lane closures, lane shifts and flagging operations. Temporary traffic signs, reflective barrels and electronic arrow boards will be in place to guide motorists through the work zone. MDOT SHA contractor Allan Myers - MD Inc., of Fallston, is performing the pavement work.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
