On Thursday night, November 3, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will remove the temporary traffic split on southbound I-695 (Baltimore Beltway outer loop) at Exit 18 (MD 26 - Liberty Road).
Crews will close one lane of the outer loop at Exit 18, Liberty Road beginning at 7 p.m., November 3 followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. Crews will close and detour the ramp from westbound Liberty Road to the outer loop between 10 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday, November 4.
Temporary signs will divert the overnight ramp traffic onto the inner loop past Exit 19, I-795 (Northwest Expressway) to Exit 20, MD 140 (Reisterstown Road), through the MD 140 interchange, and back to the outer loop.
By Friday, November 4 at 5 a.m., all four lanes of the inner loop will be open to traffic, with four through lanes open to the right of the concrete work zone barrier in the median of I-695.
In case of inclement weather, crews will remove the traffic split on the next possible weeknight (Sunday – Thursday). Construction work at the interchange will continue through fall 2012.
