(July 18, 2012) - The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is temporarily closing two of three lanes along southbound I-795 (Northwest Expressway) between Owings Mills Boulevard (MD 940) and I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) this weekend for concrete pavement patching work. 

Contractor crews will close the right lane of southbound I-795  beginning 9 p.m. Friday, June 20, and will close the middle lane at 10 p.m.  The left lane will remain open to traffic.  The temporary double lane closure will remain in effect until 5 a.m. Monday, July 23.   

Crews will be in the work zone at various times throughout the weekend to pour and set sections of concrete pavement.  Even though crews may not be present, sections of concrete pavement will be closed until the concrete is cured and declared safe for travel.  Maryland State Police will patrol the work zone this weekend. 

The work is part of SHA’s ongoing $3.8 million project to repair pavement along I-795 between I-695 and the CSX overpass in Owings Mills.  The project began spring 2012 and will be complete fall 2013, weather permitting.
