(August 17, 2012) - The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is closing one lane along southbound I-795 beginning tonight for weekend concrete pavement removal and replacement work.  All schedules are weather permitting.

7 p.m. Friday, August 17 - 5 a.m. Monday August 20:

Weekend Lane Closure: Right lane of southbound I-795 closed between south of the Owings Mills Boulevard interchange and the I-695 interchange.  Two left lanes on southbound I-795 will remain open to traffic all weekend.

Crews will be in the work zone at various times to pour and set sections of concrete pavement.  Even though crews may not be present, sections of concrete pavement will be closed until the concrete is cured and declared safe for travel.

Citizens with questions about the I-795 project may contact SHA’s District 4 Office - Construction Division at 410-229-2420, toll-free at 1-866-998-0367 or by email: shadistrict4@sha.state.md.us.  Follow SHA on Twitter @MDSHA.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely.   Safer driving. Safer work zones.  For everyone!
