(March 17, 2013) – Spring may be on the horizon but winter is making.a slow exit as another storm approaches.  The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) reminds motorists to drive with extreme caution on Monday morning. Weather forecasters are predicting a statewide storm ranging from rain to snow that will present slick conditions and a slow commute.

Personnel will track the storm and manage emergency response at the Statewide Operations Center (SOC). SHA will begin deployment of crews later tonight and monitor state-numbered routes to salt and plow where needed.  As conditions change, SHA will deploy more resources to respond.

“Cold temperatures and precipitation are bringing an extended winter season for Maryland. Plan ahead now for tomorrow morning," stated SHA Administrator Melinda B. Peters. "SHA encourages everyone to remain alert for trucks and each other while driving.”
