(August 2, 2013) – Beginning tonight at 9 p.m., the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is closing the ramp from northbound US 301 to westbound US 50 to continue pavement repair at the interchange. The ramp will reopen no later than 5 a.m. on Monday, August 5.  The extended ramp closure is necessary to allow the concrete overlay  proper time to cure and dry.

Drivers traveling on northbound US 301 should follow the signed detour route by making a left on MD 197 (Collington Road) to access westbound US 50. Motorists can also access westbound US 50 by turning left at Belair Drive and following the signs to westbound US 50.

This project was made possible with funding from the Transportation Infrastructure Investment Act of 2013, which maintains crucial system preservation investments and allows Maryland to activate long-term strategies to invest in Maryland’s transportation systems. By putting people back to work in the transportation industry with $4.4 billion in new investments in the next six years, Maryland is creating hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity and providing Marylanders with the transportation infrastructure necessary to grow and prosper for decades to come.
