(October 17, 2013) – The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will continue its routine inspection of the US 340 bridge over the Potomac River next week.

A flagging operation will be in place between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each day Tuesday, October 22 through Thursday, October 24. Motorists should allow extra time and use caution in the area.

While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
