WHAT:

SHA will host an informational meeting for the proposed project to replace the bridge that carries MD 355 (Urbana Pike) over the CSXT Railroad in Frederick County.  The bridge is located along a section of MD 355, which is within the boundary of the Monocacy National Battlefield, a resource managed by the National Park Service.

SHA proposes to enhance public safety by constructing a new bridge on either the existing alignment or a new alignment as part of SHA’s bridge preservation and replacement program.  Four concepts will be presented, and depending upon the selected option, traffic will be maintained either on the existing bridge or on a temporary bridge and roadway during construction.  If funded, construction work could begin as early as spring 2015.

WHEN:

Thursday, December 5 between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

WHERE:

Monocacy National Battlefield—Visitor Center
