Where:

Jefferson Ruritan Community Center, 4603B Lander Road, Jefferson, 21775

Why:

SHA recently resumed design for a streetscape project that will enhance a two-mile stretch of MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) between US 340 and Old Holter Road in Jefferson. The project will include sidewalk, roadway, drainage and improvements.

SHA began working with Jefferson residents on a Streetscape concept in 2000, when the Jefferson Ruritan Club agreed to pursue the project and formed a Jefferson Streetscape Task Force. Preliminary engineering began in 2005 but was deferred in 2009 due to budgetary constraints.

The purpose of the public meeting is to reopen dialogue with the community, ensure that the previous concept still addresses the community’s wishes, and provide an opportunity for public input and comments to guide the remaining project design.
