Beginning Friday night at 9 p.m. SHA will resurface the two through lanes of southbound MD 2 approaching the MD 214 intersection. SHA urges motorists to plan ahead and use alternate routes such as Pike Ridge Road and Mayo Road (MD 253) to access area businesses from Friday night through Sunday afternoon. Crews will reopen the lanes as soon as the concrete cures but no later than 5 a.m. Monday morning. While the concrete dries, motorists may not see activity; however, the lanes cannot be reopened until the material cures. All work is weather-permitting.

A short detour will be in place for southbound MD 2 to westbound MD 214. Motorists should follow the detour signs using Pike Ridge Road.  Southbound MD 2 traffic will NOT be able to turn right onto MD 214 at the intersection.  Click here for more information. For real-time traffic and commuter information, log onto www.md511.org.
