(December 5, 2014) – The State Highway Administration (SHA) advises motorists that crews will close two of the three lanes along the northbound I-83 bridge over Padonia Road in Baltimore County to repair a deck puncture that formed Thursday, December 4.

The right and middle lanes along northbound I-83 just north of Padonia Road will be closed beginning 5 a.m. Sunday morning through 5 a.m. Monday; one left lane will remain open.

Motorists planning to travel through this area may wish to consider alternate routes such as MD 45 or Falls Road. The closure will allow crews to apply a more permanent repair to the deck puncture.

While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
