(December 8, 2014) – The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will close three left lanes of southbound I-95/I-495 (Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway) between D’Arcy Road and Suitland Parkway on Wednesday night December 10 (weather permitting) to repair a pothole on the southbound I-95/I-495 Bridge over Suitland Parkway. Crews will open all lanes no later than 5 a.m. Thursday, December 11. In case of inclement weather, crews will repair the bridge Thursday night into Friday morning.

Beginning at 10 p.m. on Wednesday night, crews will block two left lanes, and then close the three left lanes at midnight. Motorists should plan for extra travel time during the repair and consider alternate routes such as the Baltimore Washington Parkway or US 1. While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
