(March 25, 2015) – In addition to ongoing weekday lane closures for the Dover Bridge replacement project, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close the eastbound lane on MD 331 (Dover Road) over the Choptank River and alternate traffic on Saturday, March 28.  Closures are necessary to allow excavation at pier locations and to place staged embankments at the east approach for the MD 331 Dover Bridge replacement project.

The weekday lane closures that began on March 16 will continue, occurring between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

SHA will also use variable message signs, cones and barrels to help direct traffic through the work zone. While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes.

Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Safer driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
