Crews will Clean and Perform Routine Maintenance on the Structure

(October 22, 2015) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close one of the two lanes on the Thomas Johnson Bridge (MD 4 over the Patuxent River) between Calvert and St. Mary’s counties on Sunday, October 25. Crews will facilitate travel with a flagging operation to alternate traffic between 6 a.m. and  2 p.m. The lane closure allows crews safe access to the bridge for cleaning and routine maintenance.

This work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of rain or high winds. SHA asks for motorists’ patience during the flagging operation.  Additionally, travelers should allow extra time to cross the bridge.  For the latest real-time travel information, log onto www.md511.org.
