Crews will Replace Aviation Lights on the Structure

(November 19, 2015) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close one of the two lanes on the Thomas Johnson Bridge (MD 4 over the Patuxent River) between Calvert and St. Mary’s counties on Monday, November 23. Crews will facilitate travel with a flagging operation to alternate traffic between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The lane closure allows crews safe access to the bridge to replace aviation lights.

This work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of rain or high winds. SHA asks for motorists’ patience during the flagging operation.  Additionally, travelers should allow extra time to cross the bridge. For the latest real-time travel information, log onto www.md511.org.
