Resurfacing Includes I-70/MD 94 Ramps in Lisbon

(March 8, 2016)  - Next week, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will begin a $1.3 million safety and resurfacing project on one-mile of MD 94 (Woodbine Road) between MD 144A (Frederick Road) and Old Frederick Road, including the roundabouts and the I-70 interchange ramps. Weather permitting; the project should be completed by late June.

This part of MD 94 was last resurfaced spring 1990 and is in need of patching, grinding (removing the top layer of asphalt), resurfacing and re-striping.

During construction, motorists should expect daytime single lane closures on MD 94 and occasional ramp closures and detours Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and weeknights between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

SHA’s contractor, CJ Miller, LLC of Hampstead, will guide motorists through the work zone using a flagging operation to alternate traffic.  Approximately 5,500 motorists travel on this section of MD 94 each day.

Drivers should plan extra commuting time during construction and slowdown in the work zone.  To get the latest travel information in real-time, log onto www.md511.org.
