Temporary 24-Hour Ramp Closure at I-695 Exit 31A Begins 5 a.m. Saturday, April 2`for Storm Drain Construction Work on Ramp

(April 1, 2016) – Beginning 5 a.m. Saturday, April 2, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close Exit 31A, the ramp from eastbound I-695 (Baltimore Beltway inner loop) to southbound MD 147 (Harford Road) for the weekend.

SHA’s contractor, The Six-M Company of Delta, Pa., will close the ramp to all traffic at 5 a.m. Saturday and it will remain closed until 5 a.m. Sunday, April 3.  Motorists traveling from the inner loop to southbound Harford Road will be detoured to the ramp to northbound Harford Road, then the northbound Harford Road ramp to the outer loop and then the ramp from the outer loop to southbound Perring Parkway.

Contractor crews will perform underground storm drain construction work on the ramp this weekend as part of SHA’s $32 million project to widen I-695 between Harford Road and MD 41 (Perring Parkway).  The entire project will be complete spring 2017.

In case of inclement weather the ramp work and detour will take place on the next possible weekend.
