The project area of MD 64 has a long history of drainage issues and flooding within the town of Chewsville. The purpose of this project is to improve the existing drainage system along MD 64 and MD 804B to reduce the amount of storm water runoff that affects adjacent properties during heavy storms.

Proposed improvements include constructing storm water management ponds along MD 64 and installing new drainage systems along MD 64 and MD 804B, which will include new drainage ditches, drainage pipes and inlets.
