Ramp to be Closed and Detoured at Night for One Week

(May 3, 2017) – On Sunday, May 7, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will repair the concrete bridge deck (driving surface) on the westbound MD 100 Bridge over southbound I-95 in Howard County.  Weather permitting, the concrete pavement repair will be complete mid-May.

The repair consists of concrete saw-cutting and application of new concrete to damaged sections of the bridge deck.  The work will take place at night between 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sundays through Friday mornings.  Crews will close and detour the ramp during work hours and motorists will be directed to southbound MD 103 through the roundabouts to the ramp from eastbound MD 100 to southbound I-95.

MDOT SHA’s contractor for the $15,000 repair is PDI Sheetz, Inc. of Linthicum.  Crews will use arrow boards, barrels and detour signs to guide nighttime motorists through the work zone.

While MDOT SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver need to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands.
