MDOT SHA Crews to Replace Damaged Pipe in Frederick County

(January 31, 2018) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will close MD 75 (Green Valley Road) at Coppermine Road (north of MD 26/Liberty Road) on Sunday, February 11. The closure and detour, which will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., is necessary for crews to replace a broken drainage pipe.

MDOT SHA will direct motorists on MD 75 onto Coppermine Road to MD 31 (New Windsor Road) to Clemsonville Road and back to MD 75. Weekend travelers should plan approximately ten minutes extra commute time during the pipe repair.

The work is weather permitting. The rain/snow day will be Sunday, February 11 with the same work hours. MDOT SHA will perform the pipe replacement and the cost is approximately $6,000.

While MDOT SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands.
