EMERGENCY PIPE REPAIR CLOSES RIGHT LANE ON EASTBOUND MD 175 AT TAMAR DRIVE IN COLUMBIA, HOWARD COUNTY

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has closed the right lane on eastbound MD 175 at Tamar Drive in Columbia, Howard County due to a drainage pipe issue.

MDOT SHA’s contractor, PDI Sheetz Inc. of Linthicum, will work around the clock until the repair is made. The estimated opening time is undetermined at this time but MDOT SHA will update the progress accordingly as more information is ascertained.
 
This section of MD 175 has an approximate average daily traffic volume of nearly 50,000 vehicles per day, so motorists are encouraged to provide extra commute time or consider using MD 100 as an alternate route until repairs are completed.
