(July 2, 2019) – Beginning Sunday, July 7, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will close the two right express lanes and the two local lanes on northbound I-270 between I-495 (Capital Beltway) and MD 28 (W. Montgomery Avenue) to complete paving operations. The work is expected to be complete by July 17.

The closures will take place Sunday nights through Friday mornings between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Additionally, the northbound I-270 ramps to Montrose Road and MD 189 (Falls Road) will be closed and detours will be in place.  Three express lanes will be available for travel on northbound I-270. Motorists are encouraged to use MD 355 (Rockville Pike/Hungerford Drive) as an alternate route to avoid overnight delays.
