The barrier gate at the MD 436 (Ridgely Avenue) Swing-Span over Weems Creek was struck this morning from a crash. While the bridge will open and close normally, the absence of the barrier gate will necessitate a dump truck to be placed across the road during bridge openings, which will cause added delays to the function of the bridge. MDOT SHA has the necessary parts ordered to perform the repairs, but this could take approximately one-week. Plan for extra time or use MD 70 (Rowe Boulevard) as an alternate route.
