​Weekend Lane Closures 

Frederick County:

MD 28 (Dickerson Road) Bridge over the Monocacy River – Bridge rehabilitation – A total bridge closure is scheduled the next two weekends - March 6 through March 9 and March 13 through March 16 - starting Fridays at 10 p.m. and ending Mondays at 5 am. Single lane closure (24/7) guided by a temporary traffic signal until summer 2020. New


Montgomery/Prince George’s County:

• Intercounty Connector (ICC/MD 200) – The following closures are related to MDTA’s tolling system upgrade on the ICC/MD 200. For more information, click here.

o Beginning at 9 pm Friday, March 6, through 5 am Monday, March 9, westbound traffic on the ICC/MD 200 will be detoured at US 29 (Columbia Pike). Motorists will be directed south on US 29 to MD 650 (New Hampshire Avenue), then north on MD 650 and back to westbound ICC/MD 200.

Anne Arundel County:

Westbound MD 175 (Annapolis Road/Jessup Road) between National Business Parkway and MD 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway)Utility relocation – Single lane closures Sunday nights through Friday mornings from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. 

Baltimore City

• I-895 (Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Throughway) between the tunnels and Boston Street/O’Donnell Street (exit 11) and the Holabird Avenue exit (MDTA Project) – Bridge rehabilitation project – Southbound I-895 is scheduled to close at 8:30 p.m. on the evenings of Monday, March 9 through Thursday, March 12, for contractor operations. Two-way operations will be in the northbound tunnel. Reopening is scheduled to take place by 4:30 a.m. the following morning. The project is expected to last until 2021. Learn more here.​ ​New


Baltimore County:

MD 45 (York Road) between north of Padonia Road and Wight AvenueResurfacing/Water main replacement – Single and double lane closures Sunday nights through Friday mornings between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Calvert County: 

MD 765/Main Street between Armory Road and Central Square Drive Traffic shift -- Starting Sunday, March 8 at 8 pm, this shift allows crews to begin pavement reconstruction in preparation for final resurfacing. New 


Carroll County:

• MD 852G (Old Manchester Road) Between MD 27 (Manchester Road) and MD 27 Patching – Starting Monday, March 2, single lane closure with flagging operation Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This work is expected to be complete in March. 

 MD 849 (Leisters Church Road) between MD 852G (Old Manchester Road) and MD 482 (Hampstead Mexico Road)Patching – Starting March 2, motorists can expect single lane closure with flagging operation Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The project is expected to be complete this week.

Cecil County:

• MD 273 (Telegraph Road) at the Big Elk Creek Bridge (roughly 4 miles west of Newark, DE)Traffic shift – Crews shifted traffic onto one lane of the new bridge. Detour signs will be posted. This shift will result in a temporary lane with reduction across the bridge from 13 feet to 11 feet that will continue through summer 2020. 

​Frederick County:

• MD 491 (Raven Rock Road) between the Washington County line and Fort Ritchie Road Patching – Single lane closure with flagging operation Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The work is expected to be complete in April. 


Montgomery County:

• MD 28 (Norbeck Road) between MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) and Baileys LaneIntersection improvements – Single lane closures Mondays through Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday nights through Friday mornings between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. 

• US 29 (Colesville Road) between MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) and St. Andrews Way (near Sligo Creek Parkway) - Resurfacing – Single lane closures Mondays through Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday nights through Friday mornings between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. 

• MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) between north of Goldmine Road and south of Holiday Drive - Bypass construction – Single lane closures Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. 

• MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) between MD 410 (East-West Highway) and Manor Road Resurfacing project – Single lane closures Mondays through Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday nights through Friday mornings between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. 

Montgomery/Prince George’s County

Long-Term Closures
Allegany County:

MD 36 (Mt. Savage Road) Bridge over Jennings RunBridge Replacement – MD 36 is closed and detoured until spring 2020.


Anne Arundel/Queen Anne’s County line

HIGH-IMPACT - US 50/301 (Chesapeake Bay Bridge) Bridge deck rehabilitation project (MDTA Project) – Westbound US 50/US 301 right lane closed 24/7 and no two-way traffic. ​


Baltimore County:

HIGH-IMPACT - Outer loop of I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) ramp to MD 144 (Frederick Road)Ramp reconstruction/storm drain and electrical work for highway widening project – Ramp closure through spring. Motorists will be guided to the I-695/MD 372 (Wilkens Avenue) interchange and motorists will use the ramps to access the inner loop of I-695 back to MD 144. 

MD 140 (Reisterstown Road) and Old Court Road BGE Reisterstown Road Electric Reliability Upgrade. Crews are operating on a 24-hour schedule that involves a detour of left turn movements along MD 140 and Old Court Road, a single lane closure on northbound MD 140 between McHenry Avenue and Old Court Road. Project to last through spring 2020. 

• Eastbound Padonia Road ramp to northbound I-83 – Ramp closure for bridge replacement project – Motorists will be guided to Deerco Road to the I-83/Timonium Road interchange.

Carroll County:

 MD 32 (Sykesville Road) between Main Street and Macbeth Way Road widening project – Both shoulders are closed and traffic shifted with a barrier wall on northbound MD 32 until summer 2020.


Cecil County:

• MD 273 (Telegraph Road) Bridge over Big Elk CreekBridge replacement project – Temporary traffic signal to alternate traffic in single lane until spring 2020. 

Charles County:

Glasva School Road at MD 234 (Budds Creek Road) - Bridge repairs - Closed through spring 2020.

Frederick County

• MD 464 (Point of Rocks Road) Bridge over Little Catoctin Creek Bridge replacement project – Total closure until spring 2020. Motorists will be guided around the bridge project using Olive School Road to MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) to MD 17 (Petersville Road). A temporary traffic signal was installed at MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) and Olive School Road. 

Harford County:

• Old Joppa Road Bridge over I-95 (MDTA project)Bridge replacement project – Old Joppa Road closed and locally detoured. 

Howard County:

• Triadelphia Road Bridge over MD 32Highway widening project – Eastbound Triadelphia Road closed and detoured until summer 2020. Westbound Triadelphia Road traffic can use the existing bridge.

Montgomery County:
HIGH-IMPACT I-495 bridge over the Potomac River (American Legion Bridge) – Steel beam work. Crews are permitted to close one lane in either direction of I-495 weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., through early spring.

MD 124 (Midcounty Highway) between Goshen Road and Montgomery Village AvenueEmergency underground pipe repair – An around-the-clock right lane closure is in place until crews complete the repairs. The lane should reopen in early March. New 
 
Prince George’s County:

Kerby Hill Road/Livingston Road intersections at MD 210 (Indian Head Highway) – Interchange construction project – Crossover from Kerby Hill Rd. to Livingston Rd. across MD 210 to close and be detoured. Click here for detour routes. It is expected to be complete by the end of 2021.  

• Southbound I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) ramp to eastbound MD 214 (Central Avenue)Bridge replacement project – Total ramp closure with traffic using the Capital Beltway/MD 202 (Largo Road) interchange and then to MD 214 via MD 202. 

St. Mary’s County

MD 5 (Point Lookout Road) between Camp Brown Road and the Point Lookout State park entrance Utility relocation - Flagging operation weekdays, 9 am to 3 pm. New  


Worcester County

• Eastbound US 50 (Ocean Gateway) Bridge over the Sinpuxent Bay Drawbridge rehabilitation work – Crews to close the eastbound (inbound) lanes near the tender house and establish two-way traffic using westbound US 50 until early March.
