Motorists Can Expect a Single-Lane Closure on MD 75  From Monday Evening Through Tuesday Afternoon

(January 5, 2022) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will perform repairs on the MD 75 (Green Valley Road) bridge over I-70 in New Market between 9 p.m. Monday, January 9, and 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, weather permitting. The project will require a shutdown of the northbound lane of MD 75 while work is underway.

Crews will repair depressions on the roadway surface, then apply a new layer of asphalt. While work is underway, motorists on northbound MD 75 will be detoured prior to the bridge onto eastbound I-70, then the MD 27 (Ridge Road) exit to access westbound I-70 and back to MD 75.

MDOT SHA’s Frederick Shop will perform the work. Crews will use electronic signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the closure and guide them through the detour.

Maryland’s Move Over Law requires motorists to make a lane change or slow down when approaching any stopped, standing, or parked vehicle displaying hazard warning lights, road flares, or other caution signals. The expanded law is in place to protect emergency responders and motorists who encounter a roadside emergency.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
