Motorists Can Expect Right Lane Closure Throughout the Repair

(May 18, 2023) –The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration has begun a project to repair a drainage pipe and roadside slope on  MD 202 (Landover Road) at Barlowe Road over Cattail Branch in Landover. The work is underway and should be complete by mid-July, weather permitting.

Drivers can expect a right lane closure on MD 202 in the work area from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Crews may also need to close the right shoulder on southbound Barlowe Road. Drivers should allow additional commuting time during this repair project.

Once the drainage pipe sections have been removed and stabilized, crews will repair the slope using a combination of grout bags, flowable fill, stone and topsoil.

The contractor for the repair is Marksmen Construction, of Baltimore. Customers with questions may contact the State Highway Administration District 3 Office at 301-513-7300 or toll-free at 1-800-749-0737.

The State Highway Administration understands lane closures can be an inconvenience, but the work is necessary to ensure a safe and reliable transportation system. Motorists are asked to reduce speeds approaching and while in active work zones.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
