Weekend              


Baltimore County 

  • Windsor Mill Rd. Bridge over I-695 - Deck paving – First weekend of bridge deck paving with flagging operations on bridge now scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday Oct. 20 – 5 a.m. Monday. Oct. 23.  No lane closures needed on I-695.  Second weekend of paving scheduled for Oct. 27- 30.   

Week Ahead 

Baltimore County      

I-95/I-695 Southwest Interchange – 10 Bridges Rehabilitation -  From Sunday, October 22 through Friday, October 27, motorists can expect temporary single and double lane closures at the following locations:       
  • NB I-95 at I-695  
  • SB I-95 at I-695  
  • Sulphur Spring Road under I-95 
There will be an overnight triple lane closure on Thursday, October 26: 
  • SB I-95 at I-695 
From Sunday, October 22 through Thursday, October 26, motorists can expect a temporary overnight ramp closure/detour at the following location:       
  • Ramp from SB I-95 to EB/OL I-695

I-695 to I-70 to MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) – From Sunday, October 22 through Friday, October 27, motorists can expect the following temporary lane and shoulder closures:     
  • I-695 Outer Loop, I-83 to MD 129 (Park Heights Ave.)  
  • I-695 Inner Loop, MD 129 (Park Heights Ave.) to Greenspring Ave.    
  • I-695 Outer Loop, MD 147 (Harford Rd.) to I-70  
  • I-695 Inner Loop, Stevenson Road to I-83 (Balto. Harrisburg Expy.)   
  • I-695 Outer Loop, MD 139 (Charles St.) to US 40 (Balto. Natl. Pike)  
  • I-695 Inner Loop, US 40 (BNP) to MD 139 (Charles St.)

  • US 1 (Washington Blvd.) bridge over CSXT Rail - Daytime single lane closures when needed 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday, October 23 through Friday, October 27.  Note: Clarke Boulevard at US 1 has re-opened to traffic Thursday, October 19.   

Carroll County   

  • MD 97 (Littlestown Pike) Ramp to Eastbound MD 140 – Concrete repairs – Ramp closure starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, October 20 until 5 a.m. on Monday, October 23. Detour route uses westbound MD 140 to WMC Drive, and MD 31 to access eastbound MD 140.    

Prince George’s County    

 

Queen Anne’s County           

  • US 301 over the Chester River – Pile driving – Both directions of US 301 will be closed at the work site when operations are close enough to pose a distraction or safety risk. Detours will be lifted each day when pile driving is complete, usually late afternoon. Project details, including planned closures/detours, available here.            

Long-Term Closures          

Allegany County           

  • ​I-68 (National Freeway) between Exit 29 MD 546 to the Allegany County Line - Lighting upgrades, traffic barrier installation and paving - Daytime single lane closures both eastbound and westbound. Monday – Friday sunrise to sunset.
  • US 220 South from Rawlings Heights Drive to Steelers Hill Road – Patching, milling, and paving – Night work from 8:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. - Flagging Operation – Expected completion mid-November.                                                                                  

Anne Arundel County                  

  • MD 100 Safety & Resurfacing Project – Nighttime single lane closures (8 p.m. - 5 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays) between the Howard County line and MD 170. The traffic alert is here.        
  • Westbound MD 175 near MD 32 interchange – Underground Pipe Repairs - Daytime shoulder (and single-lane closures if needed), 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, through late November.     
  • MD 2 from the South River Bridge to MD 214 – Nighttime single lane closures, Sunday through Thursday nights, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and daytime single lane closures, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.        
  • I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) / MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) Interchange – Ramp Resurfacing – Nighttime temporary closures with signed detours, Sunday through Thursday nights, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.             

Calvert County  

  • Southbound MD 4 between Drury Lane and Town Center Boulevard – Roadway Resurfacing - Nighttime single lane closures, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights.   
  • MD 506 between MD 2/4 and MD 508 – Roadway Resurfacing – Daytime single lane closure with a flagging operation, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.     

Frederick County    

  • MD 26 (Liberty Rd) from MD 31 to Clemsonville Rd – Highway maintenance – Single-lane closure with flagging Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.        

Garrett County                      

  • ​US 219 at Cash Valley Road near Red House – Shoulder closures and intermittent single lane closures with a flagging operation – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.            
  • US 219 in Oakland from Center Street to North Fourth Street – Flagging operation – Daytime 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.         

Harford County                   

  • MD 161 Bridge over Deer Creek – Bridge Rehabilitation Project – Borth lanes of bridge open to traffic; occasional lane closures with flagging operations Monday – Friday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.     
  • Northbound MD 924 (S. Main St./Emmorton Rd.) from Ring Factory Rd. to Victory Lane – Sidewalk Upgrades and Drainage system cleaning and upgrades – Weekday lane closures 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. through mid-fall.          

Kent County     

Montgomery & Prince George’s Counties

Montgomery County             

  • MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) at Jones Bridge Road/Kensington Parkway - Intersection improvement project - Single off-peak lane closures on MD 185, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and single off-peak lane closures on Jones Bridge Road, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, 7 days per week, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m..             
  • MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) from north of Gold Mine Road to south of Holiday Drive - MD 97 relocation project. Intermittent off-peak single and multiple lane closures, weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.             
  • Southbound I-270 between I-70 and I-495 (Capital Beltway) - Traffic congestion relief construction project - Intermittent single lane closures, weekdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and single, double, and triple overnight lane closures, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and intermittent temporary ramp closures with detours up to 24 hours a day.     
  • Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355) in both directions between Montgomery Lane and Woodmont Avenue– Intersection paving project – Double and single lane closures, nighttime and Saturday work between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Work is expected to continue intermittently through September 2023.           

Prince George’s County     

  • MD 704 (Martin Luther King Jr. Highway) from Greenleaf Road to Ardwick Ardmore Road – Safety and Resurfacing - Shoulder and single-lane closures in both directions on MD 704, weekdays, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. weekdays, through fall 2024. Additionally, there may be temporary detours on the MD 202 (Largo Road) ramps to and from MD 704. 
  • US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) College Avenue to MD 193 (University Boulevard) - US 1 Reconstruction Project - Corridor Improvement - Northbound and southbound single lane closures throughout the length of the project Saturday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.   
  • US 1 (Rhode Island Avenue) from Charles Armentrout Drive to Farragut Street - Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail project. Single and multiple off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through year-end 2023.                            
  • MD 223 (Woodyard Road) from Sherwood Drive to Victoria Drive - Sidewalk construction project - Off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.                                               
  • MD 500 (Queens Chapel Road) from Eastern Avenue to MD 208 (Hamilton Street) - Community safety and enhancement project. Intermittent single and multiple lane closures weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.    

Queen Anne’s County     

  • MD 304 from US 301 to Kidwell Ave – Resurfacing, overnight (Sunday-Thursday) single lane closures with flagging, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through October.                   

St Mary’s County         

  • MD 5 between MD 243 and MD 245 - Intersection Improvement Project & Roadway Resurfacing - Nighttime single lane closures for pavement resurfacing between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights.           

Washington County                 

  • I-68 East and West at Sideling Hill – Rock Fall Protection Project – long term shoulder closures will be in place with intermittent daytime lane closures.      
  • I-70 West from South Mountain to Washington County Line – Crack Seal - Intermittent double lane closures of the right 2 lanes – Sunday – Thursday 8 p.m.-5 a.m.
  • I-81 at MD 58 – Patching -Intermittent single lane closures – Sunday – Thursday – 8 p.m.-5 a.m.  
  • I-70 Mile Marker 28-34 – Patching -Intermittent single lane closures – Sunday – Thursday – 8 p.m.-5 a.m. 
  • I-70 over MD 65 and CSX Phase 2 eastbound and westbound​ – Bridge rehabilitation and widening of I-70 bridges over MD 65 – Motorists should expect periodic shoulder work and occasional lane closures.​
