One-Day Maintenance Project Requires Ramp Closures, Detour on October 27

(October 24, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will be performing a stormwater inlet repair on westbound I-68 (National Freeway) ramp to MD 958 (Vocke Road)/exit 40 on Friday, October 27. The project is expected to take one day and will improve safety for drivers in advance of winter operations.

Drivers will detour to US 40 Alternate (National Pike)/exit 39 during the inlet repair work. Crews will work between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on October 27.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Reliable Contracting, of Gambrills, will use directional signs, construction cones and barrels to guide drivers through the work zone.

The State Highway Administration understands that roadwork is inconvenient but is necessary to maintain a world-class transportation system.  All motorists are asked to please stay alert and be patient while driving through work zones.
