Drivers Can Expect Single-Lane Closures During the Project

(October 26, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will resurface 1.3 miles of MD 272 (Chrome Road) between MD 273 (Telegraph Road) and the Pennsylvania State Line starting Monday, October 30. The pavement improvement project should be complete by mid-November, weather permitting.

Work includes milling, patching, paving, and striping. Motorists can expect single-lane closures and a flagging operation Mondays through Fridays 7 a.m.-5 p.m. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Allan Myers, Inc. of Fallston, will use cones, barrels, and flaggers to guide motorists through the work zone.

The State Highway Administration understands roadwork can be an inconvenience for some motorists but is necessary to maintain a safe and reliable transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused, look for reduced speed limits as well as driving pattern changes and slow down in work zones.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
