Flagging Operation and Flashing Traffic Signal planned at Winston Street

(February 8, 2024) –The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is advising travelers that the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) will replace a sewer service connection on MD 414 (St. Barnabas Road) near Winston Street and Wheeler Road in Temple Hills beginning Monday, February 12. The work should take approximately five nights to complete, weather permitting.

WSSC’s contractor will work overnight 9 p.m.-5 a.m. on the project. The traffic signal at the intersection of MD 414 and Winston Street will be set to flash mode during the roadwork. Flaggers will be on site to guide motorists through the intersection.
The State Highway Administration understands utility work on State highways can be an inconvenience but is necessary to maintain reliable water and sewer service. Drivers are asked to slow down in the WSSC work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working in the area.
