Expect Single Lane Closures
(July 11, 2025) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is starting a resurfacing on southbound US 13 (Ocean Highway) between MD 675 (Somerset Avenue) and Stewart Neck Road in Somerset County on Monday, July 14. The project should be completed by late August.
Drivers can expect daytime single-lane closures Mondays through Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. as the crews begin the milling and resurfacing operations. The project is commencing early in order to expedite the completion date.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Allan Myers of Fallston, will use barrels, arrow boards, and flaggers to guide drivers through the work zone. The single lane closures will be in place until the project has been completed.
The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and changing driving patterns in the work zone. Slow down and move over in work zones. It’s the law.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
