***TRAFFIC ALERT*** STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO RESURFACE THE NORTHBOUND I-83 RAMP TO MD 45 (YORK ROAD) INTERCHANGE IN PARKTON, BALTIMORE COUNTY

​Expect Overnight Ramp Closures Tuesday and Wednesday Nights, September 2 and 3 

(August 28, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will close and detour the ramp from northbound I-83 (Baltimore–Harrisburg Expressway) to MD 45 (York Road)​ in Parkton, Baltimore County on Tuesday night, September 2 and Wednesday, September 3 for ramp resurfacing.

The temporary closure and detour will be in effect between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists on northbound I-83 going to MD 45 will be diverted north on I-83 to the interchange at MD 439 (Old York Road), to westbound MD 439 and back to MD 45.  In case of inclement weather, overnight work will be performed on Thursday, September 4 or the next possible weeknight (Sunday through Thursday).

The I-83 paving work is part of a $7.6 million State Highway Administration contract to improve pavement on Interstate highways within Baltimore County. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium, will also use temporary traffic signs and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.
