Motorists Can Expect Detour Through Tuesday
(October 21, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will close MD 513 (Cedar Lane) between US 13 Business (N. Fruitland Boulevard) and Prosperity Lane in Wicomico County on Friday, October 24, for railroad crossing maintenance. Amtrac Railroad Contractors of Maryland will be working on the railroad tracks, and is expected to complete the work by Tuesday, October 28, weather permitting.
The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Friday. During that time, traffic will be detoured along US 13 Business (S. Salisbury Boulevard) to College Avenue in Salisbury; as well as from the US 13 Bypass to MD 12 (Snow Hill Road) to College Avenue onto US 13 Business (S. Salisbury Boulevard). There will be a right lane closure of US 13 Business (N. Fruitland Boulevard) northbound at MD 513 (Cedar Lane).
Amtrac Railroad Contractors of Maryland’s contractor, RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Inc., of Watsontown, PA, will use variable message signs (VMS), arrow boards, detour signs, and barrels to safely guide motorists through the detour. The detour will be in place until the maintenance work has been completed.
The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and changing driving patterns in the work zone. Slow Down and move over in work zones. It’s the law.
