Maryland Welcome Centers and Rest Areas

The State of Maryland operates numerous welcome centers and rest areas at major gateways and strategic locations.

The major facilities are located on Interstate and Primary highways and provide modern restroom facilities, travel information, vending machines, picnic facilities and telephones.

US 301 Bay Country Rest Area near Centreville 1000 WELCOME CENTER DR, CENTREVILLE, MD 21617 Ph: (410) 758-2181	Welcome Center Open 7 days a week from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Rest area open 7 days from 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. This site is located on U.S. 301 in Queen Anne's County, MD, approximately 13 miles north of its junction with U.S. 50. The facility is in the median of U.S. 301 and serves both northbound and southbound traffic.
US 13 North Welcome Center in Pocomoke 144 OCEAN HWY, POCOMOKE CITY, MD 21851 Ph: (410) 957-2484	Welcome Center - Open daily 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Restrooms - Open daily 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. This welcome center is located on U.S. 13, northbound, just north of the Virginia State Line in Worcester County, Maryland.
Mason Dixon Welcome Center at US 15 South in Emmitsburg 17300 CATOCTIN MOUNTAIN HWY, EMMITSBURG, MD 21727 Ph: (301) 447-3719.	Welcome Center: Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, Open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Rest area open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. This welcome center is located on US 15 South, 10 miles south of Gettysburg and serves traffic heading north on US 15 via the turnaround past Emmitsburg exit and south from Gettysburg, 1 mile south of the PA line.
Sailwinds Visitor Center 2 ROSE HILL DR, CAMBRIDGE, MD 21613 Ph: (410) 228-1000	Welcome Center and Restrooms open daily from 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. This center is at the foot of the Choptank River Bridge off of US 50.
Princess Anne Rest Area Restroom facilities 11440 OCEAN HWY, PRINCESS ANNE, MD 21853 Ph: (410) 651-2968	Welcome Center - Open Monday through Sunday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Restrooms - Open November through March daily 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and April through October daily 7:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. This center is 1/3 mile south of Route 363.

In addition to the above facilities, the Maryland Transportation Authority operates two full-service facilities on the toll portion of Interstate 95 (JFK Memorial Highway). These are:

The Maryland House Travel Plaza is located on I-95 at mile marker 82 between Exit 80 (MD 543) and Exit 85 (MD 22) in Harford County, Maryland.

Food, retail, high-speed fueling, free Wi-Fi and travel information services are available. The Chesapeake House Travel Plaza is located on I-95 at mile marker 97 between Exit 93 (MD 222) and Exit 100 (MD 272) in Cecil County, Maryland.

Throughout Maryland there are many scenic byways, minor rest areas, and county-operated welcome centers available to the motorist. These facilities can also be viewed on the Maryland Official Highway Map, which can be ordered online or obtained at a welcome center.
