Office of Equal Opportunity

The Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) plans, develops, implements, monitors and evaluates equal opportunity and affirmative action programs at the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA). The office ensures compliance with all State and federal non-discrimination laws:

  • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 – investigating discrimination complaints
  • Title VI – ensuring compliance with non-discrimination laws by recipients of federal monies
  • Disadvantaged/Minority Business Enterprise Program – promoting involvement by minority/disadvantaged/women-owned/veteran-owned businesses in contracting and procurement opportunities available in the State of Maryland.
