The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has identified a damaged drainage pipe under MD 832 (Old Taneytown Road) between 1940 and 1946 block of Old Taneytown Road (MD 832), which is located just west of S. Pleasant Valley Road. The pipe needs to be replaced as soon as possible.

MDOT SHA plans to close MD 832 west of S. Pleasant Valley Road at 7:00 AM on Thursday, January 17th. We are optimistic the pipe replacement can be completed in one day.

If the repair cannot be completed in one day, Crews will install steel plates, so the road can be reopened overnight, then temporary reclosed on Friday, January 18th to complete the work. A detour route is proposed to be signed via S. Pleasant Valley Road, MD 140, and Tyrone Road. The MD 832 and Tyrone Road intersection will be manned with a flag person to help ingress and egress. Real-time traveler information can be obtained at md511.maryland.gov.
