Overnight Work Starts Tonight for Bridge Joint Sealing

(December 12, 2019) – Starting at 9 p.m. tonight, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will close a single lane on the ramp from southbound I-97 to eastbound MD 100 for bridge maintenance. The lane will reopen by 5 a.m. Friday, December 13.

Bridge maintenance work on this two-lane ramp will continue Sundays through Thursdays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. All work should be complete by the end of the year. MDOT SHA’s contractor, Covington Machine and Welding of Annapolis, will use barrels and arrow boards to guide traffic through the work zone.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for motorists, as well as our crews. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slowdown in construction zones.
