June 12, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will perform preventive maintenance on the Persimmon Tree Road bridge over the I-495 OL (Capital Beltway) on Sunday night, June 14.

Between 9 p.m. and 5 am, motorists can expect single, double and triple lane closures on the Outer Loop between MD 190 (River Road) and Clara Barton Parkway.

During the closures, crews will repair, grind and smooth the outer edges of steel beams on the bridge. Weather permitting, work should be complete by Friday, June 19. Each night, crews will close one lane at 9 p.m., two lanes at 10 p.m. and three lanes at 11 p.m.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
