(June 24, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is improving ride quality and enhancing safety along a roughly one-mile section of MD 924 (Emmorton Road) from Ring Factory to Plumtree roads in Harford County.

Crews are working on a $3-million project that will upgrade traffic signals and add new reflective pavement markings to the area, which also includes a one-way section of MD 924 (Kenmore Avenue) between US 1 Business (Baltimore Pike) and MD 924 (South Main Street). It is expected to complete by late fall 2020.

Kenmore Avenue map MDOT SHA contractor Allan Myers - MD, Inc. of Fallston, will upgrade and reconstruct sections of concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk and ramps on MD 924, followed by pavement repair, milling and resurfacing.

There are now temporary lane closures along both sections of MD 924 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays, and between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day, Sunday to Thursday. As the project progresses, motorists can expect temporary lane closures on some Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
