(July 17, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will start resurfacing MD 2 (Governor Ritchie Highway), between MD 270 (Furnace Branch Road) and I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in Glen Burnie on Sunday, July 19. The work will take place overnight, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays, until expected completion this fall.

MDOT SHA’s contractor, CJ Miller, LLC of Hampstead, is performing the work. Crews will also resurface the ramps at the I-695 / MD 2 interchange and direct traffic using overnight signed detours. Drivers should expect single lane closures in both directions of MD 2. Portable variable message signs will provide advanced notification of roadway closures.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
