(April 5, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will improve drainage on MD 77 (Rocky Ridge Road) in Frederick County. The work originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 7 has been postponed to Thursday, April 8.

At 9 a.m., crews will begin replacing a drainage pipe underneath MD 77 between Old Mill Road and Old Frederick Road. The work is expected to be complete by 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Crews will close this section of MD 77 while the work is taking place to replace the pipe safely. Motorists will be detoured using MD 76 (Motters Station Road) to Appolds Road and then Old Frederick Road.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
