***TRAFFIC ALERT*** MDOT SHA CONDUCTING ROUTINE BRIDGE INSPECTIONS AT I-695/I-70 "TRIPLE BRIDGES" INTERCHANGE IN BALTIMORE COUNTY

Motorists Should Expect Early Morning Interchange Ramp Closures, Detours Saturday and Sunday, September 11-12 and September 18-19

(August 30, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has scheduled routine inspections of four bridges on ramps within the I-70/I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) interchange in Baltimore County. Weather permitting, the work will take place over two weekends, Saturday, September 11 through Sunday, September 12; and Saturday, September 18 through Sunday, September 19. Ramp closures with detours available will be in effect between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. as follows:

Saturday, September 11

Ramp Closure: Westbound I-70 to southbound I-695 (Outer Loop).

Detour: Take westbound I-70 to northbound I-695 (Inner Loop) to Exit 18B, westbound MD 26 (Liberty Road) through interchange and take ramp to southbound I-695 (Outer Loop).

Sunday, September 12

Ramp Closure: Eastbound I-70 to northbound I-695 (Inner Loop).

Detour: Take eastbound I-70 to the Park and Ride lot, turn around to westbound I-70, past ramps to Security Boulevard and Cooks Lane to northbound I-695.

Saturday, September 18

Ramp Closure: Southbound I-695 (Outer Loop) to eastbound I-70.

Detour: Take southbound I-695 exit ramp to Edmondson Avenue and loop back to I-70.

Sunday, September 19

Ramp Closure: Northbound I-695 (Inner Loop) to westbound I-70.

Detour: Take eastbound I-70 to Park and Ride Lot, turn around to westbound I-70.

These bridges are inspected every two years. The last inspection of the four bridges was performed in summer 2019. In case of inclement weather, the bridges will be inspected on the next possible Saturday or Sunday morning..
