Nighttime Work Between MD 32 and Benfield Boulevard Will Continue Through Thursday, October 7

(October 6, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will continue pavement repair along northbound I-97 at Severn Run in the Millersville area of Anne Arundel County tonight, October 6. Between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., crews will close the two left lanes along northbound I-97 between MD 32 and Benfield Boulevard. The work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. tomorrow, October 7.

During the overnight work hours, drivers may use MD 2 (Governor Ritchie Highway) or MD 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway) as alternate routes. All work is weather permitting.

Customers who have questions about this work and state-numbered routes in Anne Arundel County may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603. Drivers should remain alert for equipment, work crews and changing traffic patterns.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
