US 40 Dual Bridges over Little Gunpowder Falls and (Big) Gunpowder Falls - Bridge rehabilitation – Single-lane closures possible on US 40 in the vicinity of the bridges on Saturdays through spring 2022. Eastbound US 40: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Westbound US 40: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ​

 

US 340 bridge over Catoctin Creek past MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) exit -Bridge surface and deck repairs – The left lane of eastbound US 340 is finished. All travel lanes will be open this weekend. 24/7 work will start on the right lane of westbound US 340 at 5 a.m. on Monday, April 25. The project is expected to be complete in May.Motorists are advised to take an alternate route during the project to avoid travel delays.Updated 

 

 

MD 45 at northbound York Road near Boxwood Lane and southbound York Road near Sherwood Road / BGE Electric Reliability Project Spring 2022- BGE will shift travel lanes to create two work zones around BGE manholes in roadway.  BGE will maintain two-way through traffic through the two work zones, BGE work will be 24/7 through late June.

Raphael Road overpass at I-95– MDTA Reconstruction – MDTA closed the Raphael Road overpass as part of the I-95 Express Toll Lanes (ETL) Northbound Extension project.The closure will be in place through early 2023 and traffic is being detoured to the Bradshaw Road overpass.

MD 151 (Sparrows Point Blvd.) / Wharf Road (MD 151 B) Interchange- Three-bridge replacement project at interchange. The southbound side of the existing MD 151 bridge is closed and two-way traffic - one lane in each direction - runs on the northbound side of the bridge. This will be in effect for the next year and will enable partial demolition of the existing bridge over Wharf Road and future construction of the new bridge. This is in addition to the detours of southbound and northbound Wharf Road at the interchange. NOTES: The northbound side of MD 151 is closed between the Baltimore County Highways Maintenance Shop (1500 block) and the Wharf Rd. Interchange. Two-way traffic runs on the southbound side of MD 151, one lane in each direction. The existing ramp from northbound MD 151 to southbound Wharf Road is open for local traffic only. 

 

 

MD 222 south of Frenchtown Road- MD 222 (Bainbridge Road) is closedfor utility work between Frenchtown Road and South Main Street in Port Deposit. Detour using MD 275 (PerrylawnDrive) and MD 276 (Tome Highway). 

 

MD 279 (Elkton Road) at MD 277 (FletchwoodRoad) – Northbound MD 279 is reduced to a single lane at the MD 277 intersection near the Delaware line and shifted across the median to a contraflow pattern (one lane in each direction). This is part of the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDot) reconstruction of route 279. Updated 

 

 

Northbound US 15 Bridge over MD 77– Bridge Deck replacement project – The right lane is closed. Each side of the bridge is expected to take six to eight months to finish. The entire project is expected to be complete by spring 2023.

MD 39 (Hutton Road) from Ashby Ellis to US 219 in Oakland –drainage improvement and repaving project, flaggingoperation, 7 a.m. - 5p.m. Monday-Friday-NEW 

 

US 50 from the West Virginia Line to US 219 –Patching, milling and paving, crews working 7 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - through the end of April 

 

 

Old Joppa Road Bridge over I-95 (MDTA project)– Bridge replacement project – Old Joppa Road closed and locally detoured. 

 

Clayton Road bridge over I-95 between MD 152 and MD 24 (MDTA project)- Clayton Road closed and detoured until early 2022. 

 

I-95/MD 152 Interchange Reconstruction (MDTA project)- Travel lanes on MD 152 at I-95 will be shifted to accommodate reconstruction of the existing interchange. MD 152 traffic will shift from the current location to the outside of the roadway in both directions on MD 152 between Old Mountain Road/Jaycee Drive and MD 7 (Philadelphia Road). All access to and from I-95 will retain its present configuration throughout this phase of construction, which will last through spring 2022. 

 

 

MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) at Jones Bridge Road/Kensington Parkway Intersection improvement project. Single off-peak lane closures on MD 185, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and single off-peak lane closures on Jones Bridge Road, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, 7 days per week, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late summer 2023. 

 

MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) from north of Gold Mine Road to south of Holiday Drive. -Roadway relocation project - Intermittent single northbound and southbound lane closures weekdays,    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through year-end 2022. 

 

MD 410 (East West Highway) from Rocton Avenue to Curtis Street –Curb realignment and sidewalk construction. Single lane closure, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through late spring 2022. 

 

I-270 from I-70 to I-495 (Capital Beltway)- Traffic congestion relief construction project - Intermittent single lane closures, weekdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and single, double and triple overnight lane closures, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and intermittent temporary ramp closures with detours up to 24 hours a day through year-end 2022.

MD 5 (Branch Avenue) from the DC Line to the intersection of Curtis Drive -Safety and resurfacing project. Intermittent/temporary single and multiple MD 5 northbound off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., overnight, Sunday through Thursday 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and weekends, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Intermittent/temporary single  and multiple MD 5 southbound off-peak lane closures weekdays, 6 a.m. to 12 noon overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and intermittent/temporary single and multiple    MD 637 single lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through late summer 2022. 

 

MD 5 (Branch Avenue) from Suitland Parkway to Curtis Drive. Median construction. Single northbound lane closure 24 hours a day through late summer 2022. 

 

MD 210 (Indian Head Highway) at Kerby Hill Road/Livingston Road. Interchange construction project -Intermittent single and multiple-off peak lane closures on all roads, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to       3 p.m. through late summer 2022. 

 

MD 212A (Powder Mill Road) from Pine Street to US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) -Roadway reconstruction project. Intermittent single and multiple lane closures weekdays, 8 a.m.to 4p.m. through late summer 2022. 

 

MD 223 (Woodyard Road) from Sherwood Drive to Victoria Drive - Sidewalk construction project - Off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through late fall 2022. 

 

MD 223 (Woodyard Road) at Dower House Road- Geometric improvement project - Single weekday lane closures, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to       5 a.m. through late summer 2022. 

 

MD 500 (Queens Chapel Road) from Eastern Avenue to MD 208 (Hamilton Street) - Community safety and enhancement project. Intermittent single and multiple lane closures weekdays,         9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through late summer 2022. 

 

I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) from Suitland Road to MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue) -Suitland Parkway bridge replacement project. Road shoulder closure permissible 24 hours daily, intermittent single and multiple lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Friday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through year end 2022. 

 

 

I-70 East and Westbound at the MD 65 Interchange– Bridge rehabilitation and widening of I- 70 bridges over MD 65 - Beginning Monday night April 25- I-70 Westbound will be shifted to the median and the right shoulder will be closed with concrete barrier wall for an extended time. Exit 29 B will be closed beginning Monday, May 2 – motorists should take I-70 (Eisenhower Highway) eastbound to US 40 (Old National Pike) westbound to I-70 westbound to MD 65 (Exit 29) - signage will guide motorists through the detour – expected to be in place until September. Beginning Monday night May 2- I-70 Eastbound will be shifted to the median and the right shoulder will be closed with concrete barrier wall for an extended time. Updated 

 

US 40 East at Beaver Creek Road –Geometric improvements at the intersection, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. - single lane traffic eastbound,US 40 East in a single lane near Beaver Creek Road and Auto Place. The right turn from US 40 East to Beaver Creek Road will be narrowed during the construction using barrels. Work expected to be completed by the end of April.  

 

MD 632 (Downsville Pike) from MD68 (Lappans Road) to South of I-70 - patching, milling and repaving project, motorists should expect a flagging operation, Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Project to be completed by the beginning of June. ​
