Ramp from Hollins Ferry Road to Northbound I-695 (Inner Loop Baltimore Beltway) Scheduled to Reopen to Traffic Friday Morning

(August 24, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has completed a rehabilitation of the CSX Railroad bridge over I-695 (Baltimore Beltway), and will reopen the Hollins Ferry Road ramp to northbound I-695 (Inner Loop) in Lansdowne by 5 a.m. Friday, August 26, weather permitting.

In summer 2020, MDOT SHA completed the first two stages of the project, which involved work on the abutment along southbound I-695 (Outer Loop) and the center piers between the Inner and Outer loops. The third stage was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed March 2022.

MDOT SHA temporarily closed the ramp this spring and summer to allow contractor crews to rehabilitate the abutment of the bridge carrying the CSX Transportation freight rail line over northbound I-695. The rail bridge is immediately north of the Hollins Ferry Road interchange.

MDOT SHA contractor The Marksmen Company Inc., of Baltimore, performed the work for this $350,000 project.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
