Motorists Should Expect Weekday Single-Lane Closures with Flagging Operations Through Late November

(September 6, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin a project today, Tuesday, September 6, to improve the pavement on MD 138 (Monkton Road) between MD 45 (York Road) and the Big Gunpowder River Bridge, near the Torrey C. Brown Trail (Northern Central Rail Trail) in Baltimore County. The $264,000 patching project will be complete by late November, weather permitting.

Motorists can expect single-lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. MDOT SHA contractor Gray & Son Inc., of Timonium, will use a flagging operation to direct motorists safely through the work zone. Customers who have questions about this project may contact the MDOT SHA District 4 Office – Maintenance Division at 410-229-2300, or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
